Some are, understandably, not convinced:

In case you’re confused, in the original Terminator movie Skynet started kicking off on August 29th, 1997, but for The Sarah Connor Chronicles this was changed to April 21st, 2011.

So I guess we’re safe … for now!

Adrian Kingsley-Hughes is an internationally published technology author who has devoted over a decade to helping users get the most from technology -- whether that be by learning to program, building a PC from a pile of parts, or helping them get the most from their new MP3 player or digital camera.

Adrian has authored/co-authored technical books on a variety of topics, ranging from programming to building and maintaining PCs. His most recent books include "Build the Ultimate Custom PC", "Beginning Programming" and "The PC Doctor's Fix It Yourself Guide". He has also written training manuals that have been used by a number of Fortune 500 companies.

Adrian also runs a popular blog under the name The PC Doctor, where he covers a range of computer-related topics -- from security to repairing and upgrading.

@bc3tech Skynet became self-aware on 19 April, but I guess took a couple of days to celebrate it's awareness before acting on it's anti-human agenda.

We should be thankful that a Terminator Series 9.01 (with the nanofusion upgrade) finally got through from the future and stopped the transaction that would have switched SkyNet over to fully autonomous operation. Given the constraints of trans-temporal remediation work, it's amazing that the exhausted metal traveler only knocked out one part of EC2 for a few hours.
