You wish it was that easy to update in Android, you have to wait for ATT, Tmo or Verizon to 'test' it out first... what a joke!
RE: Apple releases iOS 4.3.5
In Android you do not have to "Hook up your iOS device to your computer" and I do not understand what does it mean ?Fixes a security vulnerability with certificate validation.? does it mean iOS has got security issues ?!

I am guessing you too are a non android user as updates happen daily in android life. You don't have to wait for carrier updates as since it is open sourced many new complete rom updates with newest software are avaliable daily. You get to pick the flavor you want and takes less then 5 minutes to do it. Apple you have the same blah blah steve jobs liking only software and look and you have to wait for apple to give it to you.Android has so many developers updating all version daily you get new software before many carriers do.
RE: Apple releases iOS 4.3.5
Not officially it does not. One HAS TO hack/ root/ jailbreak their Android device to get an update that is compatible with the device but not signed on by the carrier where as anyone with a compatible iOS device gets the new official updates - including devices 2 years old...[b]

Not exactly 5 minutes - it takes a bit longer for they cyanogen mod - at least on my Nook Color - but do go on... [b]

As opposed to waiting on the carriers to come off of an official update?!?!? Dude there was an article or two on ZDNet trumpeting the fact that AT&T FINALLY vetted Android OS 2.3 Gingerbread for Android based smartphones released in 2011 - and with one that was released in 2010 getting some Gingerbread love as well. And Apple's iPhone 3GS which was released in 2009 is more than capable AND is signed off by Apple to run the update just released TODAY. Besides one can always root their iOS device to get the functionality/ tweaks/ whatever... but I guess because it's Apple then they suck when you have to hack/ root/ jailbreak but with Android it's okay... Cue the Double Standards! [b]

And with jailbreaking tweaks and apps one can get capabilities with iOS prior to Apple releasing them - case in point is the new notification system that has been available for jailbroken iPhones for about a year now...

I think that this refers more to a potential crack in the armour rather than something that is being currently being exploited for any reason. Unless something is 100% bullet proof its considered vulnerable.

Before you gloat - Ericsson had OTA updates at the start of GSM.
So do I want to use my original Ericsson phone in preference - what do you think?
@ mapsonburt
Is Apple inventing OTA updates, no. Are they claiming to - no!
Do you like to pretend Apple makes false claims - when in fact you are making false claims? YES!!!
Apple as always concentrates on what the believe matters - quite frankly OTA updates is not the most important part of a phone by any means.

I agree I have a Galaxy 7" Tablet and Sprint upgraded the OS to 2.3 Verizon will not update it. What the heck?
