The spec doesn't get me all that worked up. The 772MHz core, and 4,008MHz memory clock combined with 1,536MB of GDDR5 makes this more of a GF100 upgrade than anything else.

Oh, one more thing. And this does get me worked up, or more accurately, annoyed. That number, 4,799, that's ¥4,799CNY, which according to my calculator works out at around $720! That is a lot of dough! Even at $599 this card is going to face serious competition from AMD's 6800-series cards.

    well actually I was waiting for Fermi but no thanks I don't need a card which was designed to run hot so I went with ATI Radeon HD 5730. All I can say is NVIDIA Fermi = Vista

      @shellcodes_coder, The GTX 460 on down cards do not run hot, or use a lot of power. Since you're using a 5730, I assume you would have used a GTX 450, so you would have faced none of the power or heat problems, by using a Fermi card.

        @j-mccurdy@...

        of Cource he hasn't, I bet he OC'd the heck out of the fermi like they are good for and though tthat a 450WATT power supply would work for any system that could harness a Fermi. it's probaly some kid who stole daddies Credit Card, and bought it because of the sweet cooling Shroud!! and the 90mm blower fan

      Fermi has no comparison to vista, and BTW SP1 vista is just fine, you just have to know what your doing! 2ndly;
      ShellCoder, how are those frequent roll back after trashy driver updates happening and BSOD's or sloppy frame rates that can't level out for the life of even old games on that ATI card everyone is talking about on ATI's forums? BTW Fermi isn't that hot and if you all knew about cooling then you would know that eventually air isn't good enough. if your gonna spend the money on something like that, get the after market cooling to support it. The ATI cards need it to!! Otherwise complaining doesn't solve anything. personally if I spend 400+ on a Graphics Card i am definately getting a different coolling solution for it!! Only big difference in ATI cards about heat is that they don't show till it is too late, and they are incapable of handling as much heat. they also will burn up faster because of the poor cooling on them in most models

    Wow, nVidia has lost this game if they think they can release that card at anything LIKE that price and make money back on it.

      @Naryan

      Spoken like a true ATI fanboy. listen the only reason your buying ATI is becuase the cards are cheap, and you get what you pay for. Good luck playnig 80% of the games the way they were intended to be played. your missing out on the graphical aspecs and accurate Physics, becuase ATI isn't nvidia compatible. sure it can play it, but not the same way. Have fun with the low budget gams optimized for ATI.

      People will buy it, and all our favorite games use engines optimized for nvidia!!! In a few months come x-mas there is a schedualled price cut on all nvidia products, one more thing, it is funny that the GTX275 and 285 are competing with the 5K ATI still Isn't that card like two ATI gens newer??

        @Ez_Customs

I'm confused? Who's the fanboy here? And did you seriously say the GTX 275 and 285 are competing with the 5k series? Hell, a 5850 beats both a GTX 275 and 285 quite handily; plus it supports DX 11. Furthermore, in what world do ATI(AMD) cards not work in the same games as Nvidia products? What in the world are you smoking my friend?

    Looks like ATI have the graphics market to themselves when it comes to value for money and economical running costs.

      when both cards are sressed they are pretty Equal to power usage. that argument was settled already. keep up with the times would you. Most teh problem is the trash power supplies most use that waste power before it is even distributed!!
