Friday Unrant - Twas the Friday before Christmas

Friday Unrant - Twas the Friday before Christmas

Summary: Since it's the Friday before Christmas I thought that my gift to you, Constant Reader, would be for me not to subject you to my rant for this week.

Since it's the Friday before Christmas I thought that my gift to you, Constant Reader, would be for me not to subject you to my rant for this week.

Since it is the Friday before Christmas, this is the point where I wind down for a few days and spend time with friends and family rather than you fine folks here.  Well, you know how it is ... :-)  But I'll still be online and blogging, albeit lighter than usual, so if you're online, feel free to drop by.

I'd like to take the opportunity to thank each and every one of you for coming here, reading the blog and participating in the debate.  While we might not always see eye-to-eye and agree on everything, I know that the debate that we've had on here at times has made me think and get a better appreciation of the other side of the argument.  While we've debated quite fiercely at times, I've found the process to be quite a lot of fun - and I hope you have too.

I'd also like to thank those of you who've taken the time to contact me.  If you came to me with a problem or issue, I hope that I managed to help you, even if that was only in a small way.  If you dropped me a comment, know that I read it even if I didn't get around to replying (sorry about that ... if I had the time I'd respond to you all).

Take care and Happy Holidays!

If not subjecting us with a rant is a gift, that would be like feeling great once I stop beating myself with a hammer :) Have a nice Holiday!

  • A ZDNet poem "Tis the Friday before Christmas"

Tis the Friday before Christmas, and all throughout ZD
Not a blogger was ranting, no, not even Kingsley(-Hughes)
The blogs were all posted on the internet with care
In hopes that some talkbacks soon would be there
The bloggers were nestled all snug in their forum
With visions of respondents showing decorum
Berlind, editor-in-chief, shows us a demo
    'Redmond/Samba agree', states MaryJo's memo
It's Dignan, not Santa, who dons a Red Hat
And tells of bad laptops, a fact and that's that
IE is crashing, we hear in Bott's chatter
Since I only use Firefox, that really don't matter
And Krigsman delights us with Windows Flash crash
And here come the Applers, with a Microsoft bash
The Linux cheerleaders have been hitting the source
Not the kind that you drink, but the source code, of course
And just when you thought it couldn't get any worse
Comes a talkback from me with corny holiday verse
I wrote down some rhymes, so lively and quick
Some might get a chuckle, while some might get sick.
More rapid than blog posts on ZD they came
To score brownie points, I'll now name some names
Go Farber, yay Dignan, wow Berlind, hey Koman
Right George_Ou, yah Burnette, Now Harris, and Dawson

    (OK, that's enough. I'm mentally exhausted.) ;-)

Have a safe and happy holiday season, everyone!

  • Genius

That's a fantastic (if strained .. "source?" Ouch.) bit of verse. Thank you very much.
