Ping features?
use_what_works_4_U 9th Mar 2011
The only feature I'd like to see for Ping is a headstone.
Seriously, has anyone found this "social feature" to be useful or desirable in any way?

@macadam NOT A SINGLE BIT, but, since steve job's liked it, hundreds of others might like it, so crApple added it to iTunes.

And when it breaks the old 3GS iPhones, will anyone complain? No! Because Jobs wants you to upgrade!

@Droid101 No one is forcing you to upgrade. You can decline it.

Oh, and when there's 30 different flavors of Android out there, which one will you choose? Oh wait, there already are.

Apple = ONE Device One OS w/ Many Versions....
Monarky Updated - 9th Mar 2011
@Brick Tamland Google Android = Many Devices with ONE OS! ...so naturally you have different versions. But I don't see that stopping Adobe FLASH cross platform (wrongly called fragmented) now running on near every Mobile Device (except Apple's) as well as every Desktop on the Planet.

Now with their next generation "3D Molehill API" release of FLASH 11.... it's a whole new ball game, with the most prolific runtime in the planet's Cyberspace running fully GPU accelerated with FULL Desktop Games and Applications from the Web. FLASH (not HTML5) has the only integrated secure web transaction process and DRM for content distribution on the Web. Until HTML can boast having these two features, it's hardware acceleration is worthless for developers to see returns. That's why Apple is touting HTML..... they don't see it as a threat to their App Store business and FLASH's overwhelming presence and use by developers and web sites presents the greatest threat to their closed Business Model!

Remember "3D Molehill" enabled FLASH 11 is just around the corner from being used by a massive force of content developers to unleash Desktop Goodness from the Web!!! grin

http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/flashplatformruntimes/incubator/features/molehill.html

This is precisely why Apple will no doubt be forced to allow FLASH in it's future. Otherwise..... all of these competitors running on the actual 3D Web Future will bury them in their AOL Hell Closed Coffin Network!!!

Just installed iOS 4.3 on my iPad. Really enjoying the updated Safari browser. (nice speed bump)

The first thing I did was return the screen lock functionality back to the hardware switch. Finally.

Yawn. There's nothing in there that makes me want to go through the pain of updating my iPod Touch. Not sure I would even update an iPhone if I had one. I really don't understand the need for a personal hot spot - are there really that many people who need to be connected all of the time and can't find WiFI?

@aep528 Go through the pain of updating? What pain are you talking about? You plug it in, check for updates, accept terms and let it do it's thing? Updating my iPhone right now with no pain what so ever. I used to have a WiFi hotspot app for my jailbroken 3G and it was great. Very handy to get a connection for other devices where WiFi wasn't available such as in the car. Don't think I will pay AT&T for this feature if they even allow it but nice to have the option.

What happened to the 4 and 5 finger gestures?

@non-biased About two weeks after the news of additional multitouch functionality was revealed in a beta release, those features were pulled from subsequent beta releases.

I, too, was looking forward to using those hand gestures on my iPad. There was speculation that those gestures would "break" certain applications.

I updated my iPhone 4 and things seem to be running the same as before. Nothing noticed that's too amazing.

On a sidenote, I updated my 3rd gen 64 GB Touch and it bricked it. Tried multiple things to get it running again and nothing seems to be working...awesome Apple...awesome...
