Is it time for Apple face an antitrust investigation?

Now, let me be clear here, there's a huge gulf between rumor and fact, but I wouldn't be surprised if the DoJ and FTC are having a small scrap over who gets to throw a spanner into Apple's consumer war machine. The iPhone platform has allowed Apple to create a massive, locked-off, walled-off, sealed community, and that it has fostered into a monopoly. The question is whether Apple is abusing that monopoly.
The Cupertino giant started sailing close to the wind with the arbitrary way it rejects apps from the App Store, but most of the developers are small outfits that don't have a hope against a giant like Apple. By taking Adobe head on and preventing developers from using its tools to create apps, the company made a powerful enemy.
The moment that Apple took on Adobe, government involvement became almost inevitable.

killing competition
The problem I do have is their against HTC. I don't believe (believe) they really have any grounds to stand on. As an amazing product as the iPhone is, it's still built on technology that has been around a long time. In some articles I have read Apple even seems to openly admit that the lawsuit it nothing more than a strategic move to protect their product line. And THAT is the problem I have with Apple.
If they stole your technology then say so. Otherwise sit down and shut up!
Government hates entrepreneurs
depending on where you stand
be rules and regulation ,abusing system will by
fine and punish for monopoly abuse and such.
Of course if you stand in the devil may care
point of view where the fastest and the most aggressive get all
what ever the consequence ..... (BP and oil
spill)
well someday there will be a price to pay
... until you realize the one abusing the system is
Far-left passed the Community Reinvestment bill to force the banks to give risky loans to unworthy borrowers.
Far-left told Fannie and Freddie to go aggressive in the subprime market to buy whatever crazy loans out there from the banks to keep the housing bubble going.
When it all collapsed, Far-left spent trillions taxpayers' money to bail out Fannie and Freddie.
... ...
I can think of a lot of things to call such lawless abusing by the left but "blessing" is definitely not one of them.
Interesting...
Man its amazing how folk will come up with any and everything to protect companies because they have .0001% of stock in them lmao. I guess now the oil spill happened because Obama opened up off shore drilling.
As usual, when a leftist cuckoo can't refute the facts...
You must present facts to be refuted first...
Man I swear you tea baggers are the most embarrassing thing this country has ever produced.
Nice Goldman spin yet ...
When Goldman could not be paid back by AIG on their crazy bet and thus was in danger of collapsing in fall 2008, NY Fed chairman Geithner, who's Obama's hand-picked Sec of Trea, came to rescue and stole 14Bs from taxpayers to pay Goldman. Till this day, Obama is still supporting Geithner and shielding him from the necessary legal investigation.
Looks like you need to come up with one heck of spin to explain why Obama is in such cozy relationship with a snake like Geithner while he claims to be for integrity and tough on frauds.
Amen, brother. [nt]
Let's see how the left regulated

Left vs Right, definitions:
Socialism: Equal (re)distribution of misery!
One thing for sure
screen (Droid ERIS) it takes you to search page looks similar to what
apple is doing when you click on home button it takes you to search
page. Only difference is back button on home screen vs. home button on
home screen and showing Google Search words in the search box. :-)

I agree with You about Apple suing HTC...
There is no antitrust or monopoly
Apple products.
If you do not like Apple's products use and/or devolop for
Android, Windows, Linux etc.
By this logic Adobe should be investigated for antitrust
because we have been forced to use Windows to get a
decent Flash experience while they neglected players on OS X
and Linux and any mobile platform.
The same argument was made for Microsoft.
And look where it got them.
Ah, the lovely world of revisionist history
Windows to put Netscape, a competitor on the web browser market, out
of business.
That's illegal. And that's what they go in hot water for. Product tying.
Now, when you can make the case that Apple is using it's monopoly
status in iPhones to put Nokia out of business through product tying,
you'll have an argument worth listening to. Until then, you're just an
ignorant troll, like most of the pundits talking about Apple abusing a
monopoly.
