Nielsen admits to iPad stats foul-up

Summary: Last week Nielsen released data suggesting that a third of iPad owners had not downloaded an app for their shiny new device. Today the research company has "amended" its data.

Last week Nielsen released data suggesting that a third of iPad owners had not downloaded an app for their shiny new device. Today the research company has "amended" its data.

Now the number of iPad owners who have not downloaded an app is only 9% ... this means that Nielsen's initial data was out by a massive 350%!

    What makes you so sure the revised numbers are correct? Polling is always wrong.. These polls always survey like 10 people and then use that as the basis for some sweeping statement. I polled the 5 people in my section of the office, and iPad sales have been very sparse 0% of those surveyed purchased one. However, a full 60% of us own an iPod touch and have downloaded apps.. so that market is going like gangbusters!
