No Angry Birds for you WP7 early adopters

Summary: Despite Microsoft teasing Windows Phone 7 early adopters with a tiny Angry Birds icon on its website, it's not going to happen.

Despite Microsoft teasing Windows Phone 7 early adopters with a tiny Angry Birds icon on its website, it's not going to happen.

See this:

Well, according to Angry Birds developer Rovio, the company has no plans for a WIndows Phone 7 version of the game.

We have NOT committed to doing a Windows Phone 7 version. Microsoft put the Angry Birds icon on their site without our permission.

The Angry Birds icon has now been removed from the WP7 website.

So, if Rovio currently has no plans to bring Angry Birds to the Windows Phone 7 platform, where did the icon come from? iTunes perhaps?

      And no Xbox Live for you...

      • I bet that your boss must be really excited about that one

        Xbox live is a strong selling point for WP7 as virtue of being a real productivity booster.

      • Intelligence isn't your selling point, OS Reload

        Maybe if you went back to school, pick up where you left off at 4th grade, or something... :)

      • @zern: You can't be serious

        Coming from someone who still has to learn how to post on the talkbacks your (double) remark is truly amusing.

P.S. Were you trying to give us an example of irony by any chance? If you were then congratulations.

    • So no Angry Birds is a showstopper for Enterprises?

      @OS Reload
      So you are saying that not having Angry Birds will stop Enterprises buying WP7? But they will frown on Xbox Live being available?

      • Nope!

        No one in their right mind would recommend WP7 for any serious use.

        And for play it will not be that good either, that's all. It should be good enough to play your favorite fart apps though, even with flying colors, who knows.

        To sum it up: It's perfect for suckers. I'm strictly recommending it to lovey and people in his (lower) class, only. Everyone else: Stay away from it.

        @OS_Reload

        How can you recommend this? Where are your detailed, hands on reviews that I can go read?

      • Not needed

        @Cylon Centurion 0005

My recommendation is directed at lovey and suckers like him. They don't need rigor or relevance, a Microsoft origin is enough.

        I'm sure he will take my recommendation at heart.

    Is the other stuff happening? How did Microsoft screw this up so badly? Got to be embarrassing to be caught stealing another company's IP (either in purpose or by amazing ineptitude).

      You mean like Facebook integration with Ping?
      Stark_Industries
    • OMG. Mountain out of a mole hill time!

      @Jeremy-UK, how many other companies make minor mistakes like that?

      And yet you never complain How did [company] screw this up so badly

      You ABMer's are grasping at anything you can anymore.

  • This is an opening...

    ... for anybody that wants to make an Angry Bird equivalent for WP7 - not a smart move by Rovio. Maybe do an Angry Kittens or Angry Puppies version, so Rovio doesn't get plagiarized...
