WP7 MicroSD Slot Not Usable As Removable Memory
ldo17 26th Oct
@paul2011 This is what happens when you try to run a cut-down OS, instead of a full-featured one like Android with a proper filesystem and proper multitasking and IPC. Drive letters continue to hobble Windows in its fight against the competition.

If this is the best Nokia could deliver by leveraging WP7, then they are following RIM and not Apple. Hope to see Nokia innovate and change the Smartphone world similar to what Apple did. My first 2 phones were Nokia and then their phones got boring...

Why would Nokia point out the lack of micro SD in their materials, but ignore more interesting specs in the phone's favor?
Well, that's pretty underwhelming.

I thought Nokia was going to release their equivalent of a high end iPhone/Google Nexus competitor, and instead we get something that competes with....a Pantech? After all that build up, really? Really??
Looks about right. One thing Microsoft wanted to limit on WP7 phones was a micro SD slot. Looks like Nokia went along with that (which I suspected they would). This is one reason my Nokia N8 will be the last Nokia I buy. That and the incredibly poor support Nokia provided on the Symbian Anna updates for the NAM phones.

Nokia is transitioning from a premium phone with a somewhat poor OS (though personally I like the OS) to a run of the mill phone with an ok OS. I'm a hardware guy and bought my phones based on the hardware, the support, and the inclusion of cables and features that didn't require a large investment in accessories (like an FM transmitter, standard micro HDMI cables, etc). Hoping someone picks up the slack that Nokia leaves.

I want to know what the reviews say about the camera optics.

I also want to know if the Ovi maps have better worldwide coverage than its competitors.

why no microSD ? that itself is the biggest factor for me to chuck off Nokia from my list...
@animageofmine1
For windows phones microSD is just an extension of internal memory, so even if your phone has microSD slot it is not usable as removable memory. You cannot just get memory card from camera and put in the phone to download pictures from it.
@paul2011
Why not? You can even do that on a feature phone, even Nokia's creaky old Symbian OS, but not the spanking, shiny new Windows Phone?

What's up with that?
@paul2011
?????
microSD not usable as removable data?
It what you said is what you means, is must be frome some unknown GENIUS at MS
ejejejej, MS never stops surprising us...

this phones looks like every other Android phone, I thought Nokia will create more interesting and good hardware?

I miss my 7110 and 6800 Nokia phones, now those were good phones at the time.
How can a 'phone have 8GB storage including the 'SD slot', but at the same time have no 'SD card slot'?

I think I'm confused...
