@ldo17 Lumia is absolutely stunning, don't know when are they launching in US. I would love to get one of those. As for this ad, I liked it, its much better than Microsoft ads and it was not at all boring as other fellow readers have complained.
I could not tell it was a phone commercial until the 55 seconds mark. By that point I had already lost interest in the Ad. Because the ad make no reference to the fact it is a Windows phone a naive watchers might come away thinking the Nokia is a stand alone smart phone with no ecosystem beyond the world of Nokia.
@YaBaby Exactly what I thought. It's like they're trying to distract attention away from the phone itself. Also note no mention of Microsoft or Windows--clearly something else to be ashamed about, otherwise why not trumpet it?

I like it, it kept my interest with the variety of things you don't see every day and waiting for the next one. This commercial is a metaphor for WP7 in that its not an ordinary phone.

@LoverockDavidson_
There's a good point. They're selling a metaphor. Though, how can you tell from the ad that the device is a phone?
Caught my interest even knowing it was a Nokia Commercial. A big departure from other commercials and I liked the fact it showed tiles (design) but gave you just the image.

Nice start.
Show the navigation system, the facebook/twitter integration, the voice commands, etc.
It is awesome but definitely not for US market.

As a 30 second stream of visuals I think it's pretty cool. I think the copy is weak, in that, indeed, who does say what the pictures show isn't true. (I thought it was a bit strange that the eggs and bacon formed a skull and crossbones, but I guess I am supposed to think of cool pirates first and not poison. Important tip, kids, pirates do not drink Drano.)

I guess via the transformation into tiles, the suggestion is that the phone will show us the amazing, but it isn't clear how we see the amazing, how does this particular phone show us amazing that another phone cannot, or how the world I pay attention to, which is nice but generally routine, suddenly becomes amazing because it's on my Lumia.

A good looking phone with a good looking interface that is wired into social network things. Showing users connect, easily, with their people with the phone and Metro is too pedestrian an idea?

I used to only buy Nokia phones until Android was released. This new deal may be what it takes for me to give Windows Phone 7 (what a terrible name) a shot.

POLL: Will Nokia's new Windows phones help it break into the smart phone market

I didn't relate to the video, it was like a hodgepodge. The video had nothing to do with the phone until after the time at which I would have flipped the channel away from the silliness.
Yes, I wanted one before the ad. Best ad I've seen dealing with MS since Jerry and Bill with their Churros.
A smartphone that really bends was demoed the same day they showed of the Lumia
Hope Nokia manufactures it
