NVIDIA 197.13 drivers resolve fan speed issue

By | March 17, 2010, 1:11pm PDT

NVIDIA has released updated drivers (version 197.13) that fix the fan issues plaguing the 196.75 drivers.

NVIDIA apologizes to any GeForce owners that installed the 196.75 driver and experienced quality issues. For the small number of customers that did experience problems, in almost every case reverting back to our 196.21 driver immediately resolved their issues. We continue to work closely with our add-in-card partners and PC manufacturers to help resolve any additional customer issues not solved by reverting to the earlier driver. Any GeForce owner who has questions about their board as a result of downloading the 195.75 drivers should contact their board supplier.

Customers that need help contacting their board supplier can get help from NVIDIA Customer Care.

If these are released, why are they NOT on the WHQL page when you search for new drivers. ARE these BETA????

You might want to mention that at this point this is a WHQL-candidate driver and not yet WHQL-certified...another words, it's still not officially released and browsing to the regular driver download on Nvidia's site still brings up 196.21.

I'm sure it won't be long till it's officially released, but still, I won't be trying it until it is in fact official happy

I believe...

...That with nvidia the numbers are version.build, so it's a combination of the two numbers that makes the difference. As long as the first number keeps progressing, then there's really not much to worry about.
