Summary: Microsoft’s advice to those thinking of downloading the leaked Xbox game “Halo: Reach” is simple and to the point: Don’t.

Microsoft’s advice to those thinking of downloading the leaked Xbox game “Halo: Reach” is simple and to the point: Don’t.

Stephen Toulouse, Microsoft’s director of Policy Enforcement for Xbox Live, made it clear via his Twitter profile that anyone caught playing this leaked game faced a permament ban:

  • Tweet #1: I’ve been asked about unauthorized pre-release play on Halo: Reach. Let me address that.
  • Tweet #2: as with all unauthorized play on Xbox LIVE, anyone playing any unauthorized title runs the risk of account permaban and console.
  • Tweet #3: remember, legit store bought copy runs no risk of ban. Key word: UNAUTHORIZED. We have ways of knowing. :>

Pretty clear if you ask me - Play the leaked game at your peril!

Who wants to play the same damn Halo game anyway? Consoles need to get more creative with new games.

    A) Not the same damn Halo game - it's significantly different from it's predecessors.

    B) As for who wants to play an entirely new entry in the Halo franchise, I'm sure the sales figures that will post for Sept. 14th will answer that question with a big "Duh! Just about everyone with an Xbox 360!"

@Droid101 so maybe you can show us the PC equivalent of Flower, Limbo or Heavy Rain then? Where did Braid come from again exactly? Didn't see Trials HD hitting the PC originally, Castle Crashers maybe??? Fat Princess perhaps??? Super Stardust HD then???

Or maybe the the real fact is, PC devs are too busy doing ANOTHER MMORPG, RTS, FPS or Flight sim to worry about being creative.

  • Nah
Does it have offline? if so just unplug your xbox? Otherwise your pretty screwed because I'm sure the game has some internal key or id, even if you were to create a new one I'm sure the MS servers have all the distributed keys on file, if htey actually have it locked down. Otherwise you could just edit the game and go undetcted...

Proof (if needed) that the average IQ of the modern gamer, is equal to adding all the numbers together on the XBox 3+6+0. I'm getting more and more convinced, that sequels are being used, just to get them to be able to count past 10.

  • Careful guys...
The Xbox360 register every game played on it. When you enter in Live, your 360 will upload that game to M$ and you'll be banned forever (probably). DO NOT use your pirate copy - even after the release. =)
