@dave95.

Android market is accessible via WiFi and GPS doesn't require a cellular carrier

That Dell goofed and sold the Streak like a large phone doesn't mean Samsung has to

Dell failed to differentiate itself and priced itself too high - might as well use an only slightly smaller HTC Evo or Moto Droid X

Reminds me of the last teaser

Remember that one? HP something?

What's considered "cool stuff" these days is showing off teasers about a yet to be completed device, only to disappoint a few months later.

Looks like it have Android Market place and features like GPS which would indicate it will be tied to a carrier unfortunately, like Dell Streak. To get Android Market Place with Android, you need to basically function like a big clunking phone, like Dell Streak.

Everyone I know with an iPad just loves using the swype keyboard - I can't believe these Android geeks are trying to steal it!!!

wait... what's that... oh... iPad DOESN'T have the swype keyboard. wink

Let's just wait and see shall we. After all, 2nd Sept isn't that far away now is it.

@iTeaBoy
and by the way waterboy, swype is an input method, not an UI design.

- it is vaporware (what are you basing that on? Android 2.2 is ready to roll and Samsung is fast on builds - Sept 2 in Berlin doesn't have to mean just smoke and mirrors, wait another 6-12 months)
- it has a cool teaser video (yes and will be even cooler in your hands)
- it has a small display (smallER - not small - and that's a good thing - the iPad is almost too big - a reason Stevey is already planning a smaller iPad)
- its UI is a ripoff of the ipad UI (it's Android - the iPad/iPhone UI itself is derivative - short of a 3D holigraphic physically interactive display, every UI borrows from predecessors)
- it has an OS that is not optimized for bigger screens (what are you talking about?? iPhone OS on iPad - what's so specially "optimized" for that)
- it will have no apps (huh??? It's ANDROID)
- it will be too little too late (you've had too much Apple juice - this early in the game, there is no "too late" yet)
- it has written "me too" all over it (to the extent you want to call Android "me too" but to rational folks it's a "no one cares")
- it will cost more then an ipad (and you know this because you're psychic?) - not that they will, but Samsung has the size and resources to dump these on the market for $200/each if they wanted to do so just to piss in little Stevey's apple juice
