If you’re an NVIDIA user who like to overclock you system, be careful not to download the latest 196.21 WHQL drivers because they will disable your ability to overclock your GPU.

Yesterday Expreview ran some tests and reported that the latest driver killed off support for the following utilities:

  • RivaTuner V2.24C
  • EVGA Precision V1.9.0
  • Galaxy MagicPanel HD

NVIDIA has confirmed to Tom’s Hardware that this is indeed a bug with the drivers and that it is working on a new driver package.

So, in the meantime, steer clear of NVIDIA’s 196.21 WHQL drivers if you like to overclock your hardware.
