Summary: Following the hack attack on PlayStation Network and Qriocity, Sony has now taken down its Online Entertainment service.

Following the hack attack on PlayStation Network and Qriocity, Sony has now taken down its Online Entertainment service.

The brief announcement by Sony offers little information:

We have had to take the SOE service down temporarily. In the course of our investigation into the intrusion into our systems we have discovered an issue that warrants enough concern for us to take the service down effective immediately. We will provide an update later today (Monday).

We apologize for any inconvenience and greatly appreciate your patience.

There’s no indication whether the service has been taken down as a precautionary measure or because this service was also infiltrated during the attack.

[UPDATE: According to BRG, Nikkei.com is reporting that Sony discovered the attack on Sunday.]

As I was in a gaming session, it just dropped i figured that is what happened the intruders hacked into sony online too and I was correct.
What it sounds like to me is that SOE has the same vulnerability that PSN had, so they're fixing it in advance.
