VLC Media Player for iPhone/iPod touch

Applidium has released an update to its iOS version of the popular VLC media player application, adding support for iPhone and iPod touch devices.

VLC for iPad Last month the company made available a free open-source VLC Media Player for the iPad. This latest 1.1 update is a universal app that can be used on the iPad as well as newer iPhone and iPod touch devices.

The update also adds the ability to delete files directly from within the application without having to go through iTunes, adds support for many more file extensions and includes optimizations offering faster video decoding.

VLC Media Player requires an iPad, iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS or recent iPod touch model using iOS 3.2 or later and is available for free from the App Store.

yeah, in some degree, I can see using this as a way to view video files I've saved to Dropbox without having to convert and sync through iTunes. Certainly a time saver. Are there other advantages I'm missing? Other than flash vids, I'm not really experiencing any situations where I can't view videos on my iPhone 3GS, so I still have to use the iFunia Video converter to convert the Flv videos :(

VLC Player, great alternative to Windows Media Player, iTunes, RealPlayer and others, VLC media player is the application you need. VLC media player is simply the most stable, flexible and lightweight audio and video players around today...
