XFX to launch two single-slot Radeon HD 5770 cards

By | August 2, 2010, 7:41am PDT

XFX is getting ready to launch two graphics cards based on the Radeon HD 5770 GPU, both featuring a single slot heat sink.

PC Watch have some photos. First, the Z5F3:

Here’s the ZMF3:

These cards run at the reference spec of 850MHz core and 4,800MHz memory, so nothing special there. However, those 5 DisplayPort connectors are interesting, given that ATI doesn’t currently support 5 screens … ahhh, who cares!

These single-slot cards are great for those who want a small card (thus ensuring better airflow through the chassis) or who are constrained in how much case space they can give over to a the graphics card.

No prices yet, but expect them to sell at around the $150 mark.

Very nice, great to see some effort being made to reduce size.
But haven't you got the part numbers backwards?
It would make more sense if the card with 5 display ports was the Z5F3.

If only they'd done the 5870

This sort of size reduction is immensely useful for people who actually want to make use of ALL of their PCI and PCI-e slots. I use an HD 5870 and the heatsink extends over a PCI slot I'd hoped to put a sound card in. As it stands, my board, and subsequently my case (full ATX tower, even!) is crowded with slowly growing components.
Nice but I still want a 5850
