That's got to be on everyone's inner childs secret wish list. Not sure that the wife would agree but you've got to agree that they are a cool gadget. Shame the glasses aren't that trendy but a great toy none the less.

    Looks better than the Looxcie USB headset camera, that cost more and delivers a worse picture! I wonder if I can replace those lenses with my Bifocal lenses?

      @leopards
      You should take a look at the site. The specs say the lenses are removable and one of the pictures shows what are obviously clear bifocal lenses.

    Ok it seems like my sunglasses PC may be coming closer. Just needs a HUD and enough software on a Bluetooth connected smartphone to handle gestures through that camera, voice recognition is already there as well.

    So anyone working on a semi-transparent hi-res display you could use in sunglasses?

    Hmmm...why didn't they show examples of the recorded video?

    • RE: ZionEyez 'spy glasses'

      @morrieg@... Probably because they don't exist yet. Everything in the video and on their website were renderings, not real production or prototype units. Wonder if they are doing preorder to see if they can raise enough money to do an actual production run and if not just refund everyone.

  • Interesting advance, epecially when considered next to this article

    Here's the link: http://thinkprogress.org/politics/2011/05/20/168304/town-hall-ban-recording-devices-censorship/ The bottom line is that we are rapidly approaching a point where pretty much anybody can record anybody else. For politicians (of any political persuasion) and others trying to tightly control their public appearances, this is not good news.

    This is one of the things Orwell got wrong. He couldn't have foreseen the personal computing revolution and the amount of power it has put into the hands of the average citizen to record and distribute information.

    wonder what sizes they come in. sunglasses are always too narrow or too wide and tend to err on the small side.

    Has anyone actually SEEN this product? Its been announced for several months. No example video...?

I'd be happy just seeing a real photograph of the glasses. The pictures of the glasses look cool but photoshop'd if not rendered...

    I'm going to hold off on that "pre-order"
