H. Ross PerotA new flood of entrepreneurial energy is coming into health care.

While previous waves focused on devices, or facility roll-ups, the new wave aims to use technology for cutting costs and empowering patients.

It's just that simple.

I use the phrase above because one of the new entrepreneurs is our old friend H. Ross Perot. Actually it's the company he founded after his 1992 run for President, Perot Systems.

They announced today they've bought JJWild of Canton, Mississippi, makers of which sells the Meditech system used in 2,000 hospitals, according to Perot. The price: $89 million.

Steve Case from Snoot.orgAnother old friend, AOL founder Steve Case, is the money behind Revolution Health, which aims to put things like WebMD and Healthline on steroids by adding social networking and personalization.

So problem solved, right. Right?
