  • My LCD

    This week I purchased a 52" LCD TV, and I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!

    Cost wise, I was looking at a plasma, but since the tv is in a room with natural light, tehre was too much glare form a plasma. We were watching a star wars movie in the store, and my wife was waving at herslef, there was so much glare.
    The LCD it is. All they need know is add smellvision, and I will feel like I am at the ballpark when I watch it.

  • Why bother?

    Now, the 42" wall-mounted LCD monitor for the computer is something else again, but nobody with the brains of a flatworm is going to pay $50 a month for a couple of shows that will be out for $20 a season in a few months.

        I pay less than $20 for a season's worth of a show, but $50 a month for cable. You can buy a lot of DVDs for $600 a year.

  • Love my 52" Sony HD LCD. Replaced 34" Sony HD CRT.

    The 52" Sony HD LCD hanging on the wall of my smallish living room, combined with surround sound in the walls & ceiling, makes for a theatrical movie viewing experience that blows away the old Sony 34" HD CRT I had before this. The tiny difference in low-end blacks is FAR more than made up for by the huge net gain in floorspace and theatrical immersion when using the bigger wall-mounted LCD. I'll never go back to huge ugly "boxes" taking up half my living room. LCD is the way to go for me.

  • I won't be getting rid of my (old) tube TV.

    For one reason only.
    It is toddler proof.

    My son has just started throwing things. And with the TV weighing 40 lbs. I'm not worried about either one injuring the other.

    P.S. I have cable when it goes to digital.

    You should also have "front Projection" on your survey. When I finally go HDTV, I'm going to projection onto a 8 foot sized screen.

    I have to agree with WindowWasher on the front screen projector. Nothing beats a properly setup crt at 8' wide (you do the math)

    HDTV........I can take it or leave it.
    I have a 50" Plasma that I love to watch DVD's and select programs on.
    Doesn't have to be in HD for me to enjoy it.

    I have an HDTV not listed above. I am the proud owner of, wait for it . . .

    A Toshiba 34 hf85 1080i CRT TV, meticulously adjusted via the Service Menu to provide a near-perfect calibration. My DirecTV, PS2, and Wii all look very nice on it, thanks.
