I've been tagged: 25 tech things about me

I saw this and didn't realise the consequences of my actions; now as a result, I feel I must carry on with the burden that this "super-ultra-mega dare" has in the natural law contract of life, the Universe and everything. Plus, it'll make a semi-interesting post.

I saw this and didn't realise the consequences of my actions; now as a result, I feel I must carry on with the burden that this "super-ultra-mega dare" has in the natural law contract of life, the Universe and everything. Plus, it'll make a semi-interesting post.

The concept is simple. Somebody writes 25 things about themselves, and tags or emails it to 25 other people. They then have to perform the same duty, thus spreading it around the Inter-webs faster than a speeding bullet. So, as my colleague Tom Foremski has done, consider yourself well and truly tagged.

  1. In my home office, I have four screens - a dual monitor display, a laptop and a digital frame.
  2. My laptop isn't mine, technically. It's a work laptop, but I treat it like it's mine.
  3. I have 2,476 messages (non-spam) in my Exchange email inbox.
  4. I have 399 contacts in my email contacts list.
  5. I own a Nokia E61, with two phone numbers attached to the device.
  6. Technologically speaking, I'm the most qualified in my family. My parents however hold around 4 university degrees to their names.
  7. I have 159 contacts on my cell phone.
  8. My 8GB iPod nano (4th generation) has 6.3GB of media on it.
  9. I've used Firefox as my main browser for the last two and a half years, and will never go back.
  10. I don't play computer games. Seriously!
  11. I only have one email address that I actually use.
  12. My computer has more beta and pre-release software on than fully released products.
  13. I have on my computer both Windows 7 (7016.0.090105-1500) and Office 14.

  14. I only have 7 icons on my dual-display desktop.
  15. I've always liked Windows Vista, but that's not such a shock to most people.
  16. My university is one of the major mirrors for SourceForge.
  17. I have 64 contacts on my Windows Live Messenger contact list.
  18. I have 161 friends on Facebook.
  19. Since getting my phone, I've had 7 days, 4 hours, 32 minutes and 2 seconds worth of calls.
  20. Since getting my phone, I've sent/received 218.56MB of network data.
  21. My homepage is set to Google UK.
  22. My most visited web page is the BBC News website.
  23. I can't stand Twitter, much to her displeasure.
  24. I used to work at Microsoft, and would never, ever go back.
  25. I thoroughly hate computers, but can't get enough of them.
