Feeling Jobbed by Jobs? Step Up And Claim Your $100

Feeling Jobbed by Jobs? Step Up And Claim Your $100

Summary: As you've probably already heard by now, Steve Jobs seems to have been guilt-tripped up into pronouncing a $100 Apple store credit for those "early iPhone" buyers who can't qualify for a $200 credit to make up for the lowering of iPhone prices from $599 to $399 yesterday. Those would be those folks who paid $599 for an iPhone within 14 days of yesterday's price cut.

So much for Apple being in control of things.

    • Buying an iPhone with the credit. Can't wait.

      • Wrong math

        1 iphone $599 + 2nd iPhone $399 - $100 credit = $ 449 per phone.

  • It's brilliant!

    Apple releases iPhone.

Apple releases iPhone - phone and calls it iPod.

Apple drops price of iPhone, pisses off loyal customers who otherwise would have bought a redundant device.

Apple issues "store credit" to miffed customers, who proceed to by iPod that is redundant to their iPhone.

Apple makes large killing selling two devices to people who should have only bought one.

That sucks! I paid 599 for my daughter's iphone over two weeks ago and now I will be getting back only $100! Everyone should get $200 regardless because this thing has been out just over 2 months. I am very annoyed by this! This was our first apple product and I am very unhappy! Anyway the iphone has a lot of kinks!

    • Where do you draw the line?

Yeah, it sucks and I think there's a good chance Apple is acting in a less-than-ethical manner.

But still, it is *possible* that they managed to negotiate some sort of discount with their suppliers and their costs have significantly dropped, or they convinced AT&T to give them some sort of kickback.

Happier than I would be if I had bought a new car
only to have the manufacturer announce a $2,000
    rebate two weeks later.
