Here's a likely cause for SunRocket TeleBlend number transfer woes

Reading some posts on BroadbandReports.com’s SunRocket Forum, it seems as though porting out legacy SR numbers to work on other services isn’t working all that smoothly for many former SunRocket subscribers.

Some of these complaints are now aggregating on a thread entitled, TeleBlend- All Circuit are busy….pls try later?

One Communications- often referred to by their legacy name of ChoiceOne seems to be targeted by some irate SR-to-TeleBlend customers.

“ChoiceOne will be calling me back Monday for more info and w/ info,” writes voiplover. “I think that the want actual proof that a SR subscriber paid up front for 2 years of use of the DIDS (Note- Direct Inward Dialing Services) It would probably be a good thing if others followed suit.”

Then voiplover suggests that a call to ChoiceOne 1-888-832-5801 might be in order.
To see if you are using ChoiceOne: »telcodata.us/telcodata/telco?
Just enter you area code and exchange.

Then voiplover suggests that if you are getting”all circuits are busy…”for those that paid the TeleBlend another ~$20/month, I’d make a complaint ASAP.”

“Just got off the phone with Choice One and they were no help,” wrote BroadbandReports.com Forum Member humanpicnic Sunday evening.

“I explained the Sunrocket situation and he had no further info other than they are shutting down next month. “Looks like this seamless transition to Teleblend is anything but. Atleast outgoing calls are still working OK”

I’d be interested in hearing what they say,” nitecourt adds. “The other provider I am switching too just sent a response to my port inquiry. I submitted the request on the 19th. My new provider said ‘At this time we are waiting on a response from your previous carrier.’ which also comes up as Choice One for me. ”

My analysis: it looks like One Communications/ChoiceOne wasn’t brought into the loop early enough during the SunRocket-TeleBlend “preferred provider” process, and the information about how to handle these situations wasn’t offered to ChoiceOne CSRs.

How many times have we seen this happen where third-party transactional providers aren’t given enabling information early enough in the process?

My phone was working fine, then it shut down

After working and then the phone shutting down. I can't get in contact with TeleBlend, by phone or website. Might have to sue them to recoup my business losses.

Packet8 and ViaTalk port numbers just fine.

I've ported my old SunRocket phone number after a switch to ViaTalk within days. I hear that Packet8 also take just a couple of days to transfer phone numbers. Same is true

about JoiPhone. So you don't have to

stick with some TeleBlend, which didn't even exist until several weeks ago.

Teleblend is working fine.

My transfer from SR to teleblend works just fine. I kept my SR number, no need to get another gizmo. Very nice low rate $15.20/mo for unlimited US/CAN, until the end of my SR term (another 6 mo). International calls work as well: I just had to reset my DSL connection and reboot the gizmo to switch to Teleblend network. Also, their phone reps are available and helpful, though the wait on the phone is about 15-20 minutes.
