But hey, guess what. Now, TeleBlend is buying some of the cremains.

Today TeleBlend announced that it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire “certain limited strategic VoIP assets” of SunRocket.

A TeleBlend spokesperson told me earlier today via email that because a large percentage of former SunRocket customers have not yet chosen a new provider, this announcement is significant because it means that any former customer transitioning to TeleBlend can continue to use their existing SunRocket equipment and maintain their existing phone number - all while ensuring continuity of service.

More details are on a special TeleBlend web page just put up today.

The actual deal is expected to close “shortly,” TeleBlend said in a press release issued today.

  • Why wouold anybody go with Sunrocket Referal
Why would anybody in their right mind go with anybody that sunrocket is doing business with or is recommending that you go with that company after what they did to us. I still do not have my business line running yet and it will not be running until August 11 , Thanks Sunrocket for the loss of my business. No thanks to anybody that has anything to do with sunrocket at all.

  • Who is TeleBlend?
The whole thing is a bit smelly. Who is TeleBlend anyway? They didn't seem to exist before SR died - so are they some SR principals picking up the pieces on the cheap? And why, after losing a substantial portion of a year's fees to SR's death, would someone go with a zero-track-record VOIP provider?

Anyone at ZDNet still do investigative reporting?

  • Teleblend domain registered on 17-Jul-07, huh?
Yeah, yeah, I'm looking at Whois data for Teleblend: Their domain was registered on 17-Jul-07. So these guys registered their domain two weeks ago and you're expecting me to trust them?
I'd better switch to somebody who has been on the market long enough. From what I?ve found out after looking through the Internet is that Lingo, ViaTalk and JoiPhone are also highly capable of quickly transferring SunRocket phone numbers. All of them have special promos for ex-Sunrocket customers. ViaTalk for example has a 3 month contract buyout for ex-SR customers and two phone lines for the price of one.

  • Teleblend is working Fine.
Whoever Teleblend is, it is able to deliver a decent service.
My transfer from SR to teleblend works just fine. I kept my SR number, no need to get another gizmo. Very nice low rate $15.20/mo for unlimited US/CAN, until the end of my SR term (another 6 mo). International calls work as well: I just had to reset my DSL connection and reboot the gizmo to switch to Teleblend network. Also, their phone reps are available and helpful, though the wait on the phone is about 15-20 minutes.

  • I smell a class action
I think this is no coincident. Both terms and agreements are identical to include typos. The only replacement is the new company's name. It is also a coincident that you can keep your old equipment and phone number without doing any transfer.

I am a Sunrocket customer, and when I transfered over to Teleblend, I was not able to see anything about my account except for the fact thta I paid.
