Patricia Dunn, don't let the screen door hit you on the way out

Summary: HP board chair Patricia Dunn, she of privacy-invading and quite possibly illegal investigatory practices against fellow Board members and several journalists, has resigned from the HP board effective immediately. Now, I wonder how many other HP board members and execs who had knowledge of these disgraceful tactics are going to be kicked out on their ass.

HP board chair Patricia Dunn, she of privacy-invading and quite possibly illegal investigatory practices against fellow Board members and several journalists, has resigned from the HP board effective immediately.

Now, I wonder how many other HP board members and execs who had knowledge of these disgraceful tactics are going to be kicked out on their ass. If it takes throwing out half the executive suite, than so be it.

I  conclude this post with four lines from the classic "Star Trek" episode "Return Of The Archons:

All who saw you

All who knew of your presence here

must be excised

The memory of the body will be cleansed

  • Yes...but how do you *really* feel? :^P

  • Don't lose sight of who first violated privacy

This whole thing started because one HP Board member repeatedly violated the trust and yes, the privacy, of the HP Board and its members in order to advance his own personal agenda. A Board of Directors can not function effectively when this happens. IMO, that board member forfeited his privacy rights when he violated those of others.

Tailing reporters is another matter; I don't mean to excuse that. But the leaker deserved what happened to him. Sometimes you have to fight fire with fire.

Speaking of fire, I'm donning my triple-layer Nommex suit now. 8-)
