Fresh news today about the availability of Skype 3.2 Beta for Windows. It should be up momentarily.

Seems like even the incremental builds add more features. Some are pretty cool.

Here's what's available in this rev:

Importing contacts from more sources – Users can now import their contacts from web based email applications such as MSN Hotmail, Gmail and Yahoo! Mail. The goal is to bring more IMers to Skype.

Video Snapshot – Users can instantly capture photos of themselves. I don't think I will go there, dude.

Send Money – Integration with PayPal, so that you can not only pay for Skype via its eBay-owned sibling, but send money from your Skype UI as well. With the money you save on Skype calls,  maybe there's some for your  in-between career cousin?

  • Not surprising

eBay bought Paypal, which was originally an aspect of a small bank in the middle of Kansas. They then barraged everyone into using Paypal to pay for everything, so even if they made nothing at all on eBay they'd still get. 2.x percent of every dollar spent there, via Paypal. Now that they have Skype, is it really all that surprising that they've brought their cash cow, Paypal into that too?

Now we'll REALLY see Nigerian Scammers coming out of the woodwork. Starving children, busfare, and porn/webcam solicitations will be rampant. Send me $10 via Paypal now to watch me ___.... Ugh.
