Among workers who own a cell phone or Blackberry or PDA, 59% use that device for text messaging. As is the case with email, text messages sent throughout the day are more likely to be personal than work-related. 47% say that all or most of their text messaging is personal, while a meager 2% say that all or most is work-related. Another 9% say that their text messaging is evenly split between work-related and personal exchanges, according to Pew Internet Project.
