  There are more men than women in essentially every demographic except aged people. More people are born men than women but due to the naturally longer lifespan of women, there are profoundly more very old women than there are men, which is why depending on the area you are looking at, there may be more women than men.
  
  The idea that X of men and Y of women are on the net, and women being the larger set, have higher uptake of the net is rubbish. I don't know how many 83 year olds are on Second Life but I imagine not many, nice use of mathematical trickery though :)
