Microsoft released the on-premises and partner-hosted versions of its Dynamics CRM 2011 product on February 16.

The final bits are available immediately to existing customers with active Microsoft Software Assurance licensing agreements. Microsoft officials had said in January that the on-premises and partner-hosted versions of the product wouldn't be out until February 28, but they finished early and decided to release the code today, a spokesperson said.

Microsoft made available the Microsoft-hosted version, known as CRM Online 2011, a month before the company delivered the on-premises variant. The cloud and on-premises versions of CRM 2011 build on top of the same multitenant code base.

CRM 2011, codenamed CRM 5,  adds a native Microsoft Outlook Client, an Office-like Ribbon and more user personalization options. It also will provide guided process dialogs, inline data visualizations, performance and goal management capabilities and real-time dashboards, company officials have said.

In other download-related news, Microsoft made available on February 16 to its volume-licensing customers and TechNet and MSDN subscribers the final version of Service Pack (SP) 1 for Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2. Microsoft plans to make the SP1 bits available for download by the public on February 22, company officials said earlier this month.

An updated version of the CRM 2011 SDK was also released two days ago. This now includes some integration support for BizTalk. http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/confirmation.aspx?FamilyID=420f0f05-c226-4194-b7e1-f23ceaa83b69
