The LiveSide.net guys have posted screen shots of what looks like the new version of Live Search that Microsoft is set to unfurl on September 26.

There are a few changes between the old and new search interfaces: The addition of new Video and MSN search tabs; a plug for the recently introduced Windows Live Suite (a handful of Windows Live services united via a common installer and updater). According to the LiveSiders, the size of the index behind Live Search 2.0 is greatly increased. Personalization and greater relevance are allegedly on tap for the refresh, as well.

Meanwhile, in other Live-related news, Microsoft has begun testing a the beta of a new translation service that is akin to Babel Fish. No information from Microsoft on what the rollout plans are for this new and as-yet-unannounced service.
