CES 2012: Samsung Galaxy Note coming to AT&T with LTE

By | January 9, 2012, 10:58am PST

Summary: Samsung loves the Galaxy brand and along with AT&T they announced that the Galaxy Note will be coming to the carrier in 2012.

Samsung announced the Galaxy Note back in September. Today, AT&T announced they will be carrying the 5.3 inch Galaxy Note smartphone/tablet and The Verge already posted a hands-on article of the device.

AT&T adds LTE to the device we have seen released in Europe. If you recall, this is a device with a large 5.3 inch 1280 x 800 Super AMOLED display, 1.5 GHz dual-core processor, 8 megapixel camera, stylus, and more. We don’t yet know when it will be released or at what price, but it is an interesting device. I personally am enjoying my 4.65 inch Galaxy Nexus and cannot imagine having a phone with a larger display. Then again, I do like the 7 inch tablet form factor and wonder if 5.3 is too small for a real tablet. Are any readers looking forward to the Galaxy Note?

That's what I'm talking about!! My Galaxy S is exciting but after a year with it: the screen is too small, it's 3G, I can't talk on it unless it's in speaker mode, the GPS is useless... etc... I want something bigger and I want something faster and I want something that works!! The Note is all of that, can't wait, and I don't care what the price is!! I justify the price of the Galaxy and TMob service because the google Maps with bus routing elevates the Bus service to nearly the convenience of a car, with the Note the map will be much more viewable!! Can't wait!!!!!
I'm leaving Verizon for this "little" beauty.
I've been waiting for this since Nov. I'm a little bummed that it's only coming in an LTE version which probably doesn't have the Sammy CPUs But I will still be getting one as soon as they are out!
I'm sitting here staring at my galaxy skyrocket and its 4.5" display and wonder how much larger of a screen can we handle? I love the phone, but being a guy with medium to large hands, I can just barely hold it in one hand.
I have been waiting for this ever since Samsung announced the device!
I've been sitting on my HTC Tilt (yes, Windows Mobile 6.1 people) just so I can get this phone. I feel that this phone will be the perfect medium between a tablet and a phone. I use my phone mainly for work, so the large screen will help tremendously for RDPing into my servers (yes, I looked at the WP7.x Titan, with the 4.6 inch screen, but because WP7.x doesn't do VPN, I can't access any of my backend servers....and iPhone? Talk about a whimpy screen! THat thing isn't even 4 inches! No, 5+ inches is great for what I want to do...and I can't wait for this thing to hit this country!
I have had my Note (German Edition) for two weeks and continue to marvel at it. I bought it through Amazon ($668.00) as an unlocked phone and am using a AT&T GoPhone monthly Plan. I just activated the Phone, the Sim card and the plan on line within a few minutes. The phone is a visual masterpiece. The screen quality and size makes everything from videos to reading emails to typing very much more enjoyable.
It does fit easily in my pocket and I look forward to rooting it shortly.
Never knew that Koreans had such big hands....
