I enjoy using Windows Mobile Smartphone devices since I like the user interface and functionality, as well as the power to run applications like SlingPlayer Mobile. However, I am not a big fan of T9 keypad input (I really haven't given it much of a chance though) and that is one reason I have been using my Nokia E61 so much. However, the HTC Excalibur looks like the perfect WM Smartphone for me. The Motorola Q may have been a good choice, but there is no GSM version yet available. I am getting more and more excited about the device that may be coming to T-Mobile after reading my buddy Arne Hess' review of the 02 XDA Cosmo. I thought the device looked ugly in the first photos I saw a couple months ago, but Arne's photos make it look much better and I am impressed by the rather small size. The specs look awesome with Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP support, 802.11 b/g WiFi, GSM/GPRS/EDGE, 128MB ROM and 64MB RAM with a 1.3 megapixel camera. It does not have a 3G radio (UMTS/HSDPA), but since that probably won't be out here in the U.S. from T-Mobile until sometime in 2007 I am not that concerned about it. I hope to try out the device and the unique HTC JOGGR control pad later this month.
