I have push email functionality on my Nokia E61 and i-mate SP5m and find it to be a valuable benefit, as long as you realize you are in control and do not let your device control you. Cingular Wireless and HTC America (manufacturer of the devices) just released ROM updates for their 8125 and 2125 devices that give users push email ability if you have an Exchange or hosted Exchange server setup.

T-Mobile has not yet officially released a ROM update for their two similar devices, the MDA and SDA, but for those who feel like taking a risk you can find generic ROM updates that give you the push email functionality. You can always set up ActiveSync on your device to check email every 5 or 10 minutes if instantaneous email is not critical to you.
