Diagnose and Repair your PC from your Android phone with Live Gooroo

By | February 25, 2012, 11:58am PST

Summary: Remove some of the most hated Spyware out there, using this unique Android app

The folks over at Live Gooroo have come up with a way of diagnosing and repairing most problems that plague your PC today. While that in itself would be noteworthy, the part that’s really interesting is that they diagnose and repair your PC via an app on a connected Android device.

The App, Live Gooroo PC Repair, comes in both a free and $14.99 version, and offers the user the ability to diagnose, trouble shoot (via a Tools and Help area), and Report and Repair a PC problem. According to the company, the free version will provide diagnostics and tips, whereas the full version will offer up multiple repair and diagnostic routines.

What I find most impressive about the app is how it claims to remove some of the worst Spyware out there (see their list). I’ve spent far too many hours trying to remove some of the ones on the list, and according to the company, since the phone is connected and is not part of the infected operating system, Live Gooroo can remove most of the painful ones out there.

I’m currently spyware and virus free, and my machines are running perfectly, so I can’t test this first hand. That said, if you happen to download either the free or paid version, please post your results in the comments below.

You can also watch the video of the App below, though the video doesn’t show the App running any repairs, unfortunately.

Impressive App

I researched this app quite a bit before downloading the paid version and I can say that it is pretty impressive. Its a very handy tool to be able to run multiple diagnostics from a smartphone right to your computer. I also did some playing around with the app and found out that some of the commands can be ran without the recommended usb cable through wireless, but it looks like in order to have your updated reports under the reports tab the usb cable must be connected.

Malware on a PC can easily be defeated in several ways and the right tools. Malware Byte's Anti-Malware will nicely do the job and even clean the reg keys out that lock up task manager, msconfig, background and group policies etc..
If it wont allow you to run the program itself from the link, just go to its installed folder (malware bytes) and rename mbam.exe to 01.com and run it. This utterly defeats the .exe blocking malware by giving it a name the malware's blacklist filter doesn't know. Rootkits are becoming more common and are not easily detectable by most programs. The correct tools everyone should know about and keep handy are Kaspersky's tdsskiller (anti-rootkit) which is free from their site, ComboFix from bleeping computer, malware byte's anti-malware and some decent av like Avira or avast.

Nice.... Just downloaded it and gave it a spin. Works pretty good although the free version does not have repairs. It does have some very good diagnostic tools and reports. I've used Malwarebytes and Spybot before but most of the time the PC was so messed up I could not run either without going into safe mode. If this app can get around that it will be very useful.
