Secure data on your mobile device with SplashID
There are several solutions available to you in order to maintain this security and peace of mind and Kevin let me know that one of my favorite mobile software companies, SplashData, announced availability of their SplashID secure information manager in an Enterprise and Government Edition. The Enterprise and Government Edition of SplashID offers a security solution for large scale deployments across Windows and Mac desktops and multiple mobile device operating systems. SplashData offers site license discounts, enterprise-grade support, and service programs. A couple of organizations that have implemeneted SplashID are Lawrence Livermore National Labs, NetBank, and the Getty Foundation.
Maintaining security with SplashID is accomplished with their 256-bit Blowfish encryption technology. Other security features include secure field masking and an automatic password generation option.
In addition to the security features, expandability and GUI, another reason that users prefer SplashData's products is that they are available for multiple mobile operating systems (Palm, Windows Mobile, Symbian, and coming soon to the BlackBerry), allowing you to become familiar with an application and use it on your desktop and any mobile device you may be carrying at the time. For consumers, their registration codes are also transferrable between devices so as long as you are using only one device at a time you can purchase a single user license.
There are a number of other secure information managers available for the various mobile operating systems and a few I have tried are CodeWallet Pro 2006, FlexWallet 2006, eWallet, and Wallet Manager 2.0. You should require every mobile device owner to secure their data on their devices with one of these secure information managers to prevent the loss of sensitive information.
