The Tech Boss: A satirical look at technology and gadgets

Summary: Karl Susman tackles technology, with a bit of humor

I've been reporting on technology and gadgets for years, and I used to have ideas of merging my love for funny videos with gadgets. The problem with mixing the two is that you have to be technically accurate, and not everyone can agree on what is funny.

Well, the Tech Boss (Karl Susman) seems to have figured out a way to dance that fine line. With videos ranging from how to unlock your iPhone 4S on Verizon--legally--to Rules of when to play Words With Friends, no subject is too tough for him to tackle.

One I can definitely identify with is the Rules of Reboot (embedded below). I can't even tell you how many times I try to troubleshoot a computer problem for a friend when all it really needed was a reboot.

ZDnet - your talkback forums suck.<br><br>i've tried posting a legit response to your post, and it would not 'accept'... but something tells me it will take my "your website sucks" post no problem.<br><br>maybe you should reboot your hosting servers?

But some of us have been complaining about this very thing ever since CBS took the reins at ZDN. I still can't tell where the censorship ends and the myriad of glitches begins. It's maddening to say the least, and I suspect it is the reason a number of the old time talkback members we had here years ago have since disappeared.<br><br>Maybe they've created a blacklist of "no-go" syntax that prohibits certain posts from taking. If not, the mods ought to back off a bit, or get the coders to figure out what posting errata still remains. As in WHAM! You hit reply and nothing happens -- or your post appears to "take" only to disappear into the ether. *Forever*<br><br>I also think they are employing additional restrictions on being able to respond once you get two or three levels deep - on more "sensitive" subjects anyway. Why this would be the case I have no idea, BUT IF SO IT'S LAME AS HELL. I go back pretty far on this board and still prefer the simplicity of the old tree-style, pre-Ajax days, back when CNET acquired ZDN from Ziff-Davis and ran it.<br><br>Basically around the time George Ou left, things have gotten increasingly snookered. This may have more to do with the implanted CBS staff "synthesis" than anything else. The only thing I find refreshing is the recent improvement in post editing, that is, if you can look past certain inline tags disappearing or re-tweaking themselves when doing so. [*doink*]

Figured I would start by posting " 1 ". My next post would be " 2 " until I got to 200. Unfortunatly my computer is acting up.
