One of the things that was sort of glossed over during the official announcement of Windows Phone 7 Series was the integration with the XBOX gaming service. The demo videos showed the ability to see your gamer tag, among some other features, but we never got to see regular games being played. Now, thanks to a video grabbed by Engadget, we get a first look at what the future of gaming on the Windows Phone 7 Series is all about.

The video below is taken at TechEd Middle East and features Microsoft's Eric Rudder demoing gameplay across three different devices. While that on its own is impressive, the most impressive piece about the demo is that Eric is able to play the same game on the PC, XBOX and his Windows Phone 7 Series, and pick up where he left off as he moves from one platform to another. This is definitely gamer nirvana as you can literally stop playing on your console, go on a train and resume your gameplay from your mobile phone.

If you're a developer, the coolest feature of the entire process is that the code for all three platforms lives in sub-projects with 90 percent of the code shared.

Microsoft should definitely continue to highlight the above abilities when talking about Windows Phone 7 Series, since it's definitely a claim that no other phone can make currently.
