I can't wait to update to a new 6.x from 6.0.0.333 leaked. Hopefully it will be really close to 6.1.

Would love to see 6.0 on my Bold 9700 and already 6.1 is being released for others.

I'm just hoping for more updates from OS6 in general for all RIM phones. My Torch could use some updates like OS optimization, Flash support, and more.

  • Ergonomics, Style, Realiability, and Functionality.

    Ergonomics, Styling, Reliability, and Functionality:

For high-end products, the preferences usually take the aforementioned sequence. This is because most of the devices have comparable levels of functionality, which leaves these parameters along with service and pricing as the only product or brand-differentiators.

With regards to consumer electronics and appliance styling - Philips, Sony, Samsung, and Bang & Olufsen used to be the market leaders ( in addition to products from the well known Fashion Houses).

For electronic and electrical appliances (These, btw, do include cell phones) - the stylish has to be post-modernist and has to follow the paradigm of understated elegance. That is for the products to be neither too bland for them not to even engage or stimulate the mind nor too gaudy for it confound the mind (as being discordant).

Cutting out the maximum possible clutter without compromising on bare essential functionality improves both the ergonomics and the styling.

I would suggest all of the manufacturers within the high-end technical arena to take these design cues. The only exceptions would be - highly-customized products for exceptionally-skilled career professionals that entail almost vertical learning-curves.

Mobile devices are also required to be convenient for carriage (They can't afford to be unwieldy). The only expectionexception would be for portable-devices(that require to be moved but remain stationary for long periods of time).

Umm, did you have a point? What does your post have to do with OS6 software updates?

I wonder why the Curve 8530 isn't getting this OS update - the hardware is the same as the Curve 3G...
