HP TouchPad: Best Buy extends return period to 60 days

By | August 20, 2011, 6:06am PDT

Summary: Retailer Best Buy has extended its return period to 60 days for customers wishing to return TouchPads due to the discontinuation of the line by HP.

While retailers with inventory of the HP TouchPad tablet are selling out at fire sale prices, early adopters are trying to determine if they can get a refund for the full price they paid a few days ago. Retailer Best Buy has extended its return period to 60 days to allow all purchasers of the TouchPad to bring them back for a full refund, or to let them talk you into another tablet model according to the web site. Note that Best Buy’s price match does not apply to the TouchPad, you must return it to get the refund.

RE: HP TouchPad: Best Buy extends return period to 60 days

Well is nice 2 be extends the return period to 60 days for the customers so that if HP TouchPad have a problem in case of technical malfunction it can be repair.
Anyone want to be a Beta deck? HP makes th best PCs so they leave us to DellHell and proprietary price ougng yet on the way out they do te right thing for Pad owners, go figure!
@KattMann I'd rather be investing $99 in a beta deck than $499. Best Buy is letting us get our $499 back. I've been needing another iPad 2 for family so I might just have them swap the DeadPad for an iPad 2....
The latest from the HP mothership is that they're offering existing TouchPad owners either a refund on the unit or a refund to the fire sale price point. In addition they are asking their retail partners to honor this deal as well.

So hopefully in a couple days I can get my money back from Best Buy and Amazon and still have a couple decent new photo frames to hang on the wall and show pictures.

Would Best Buy honor this. That means I would get $150 from them back if I keep the pad instead of returning it. Not a bad one. I bought mine for $250 from Best Buy on new mobile store deal, broadband signup deal (which I cancelled immediately in a week) and HP $100 cut at that time. I am planning to return mine before the windows closes. Today morning I went to Best Buy and they said they don't have any Touchpads because they have sent back all the inventory to HP and they are not doing any price matching but extended that return time to 60 days instead of 14 days. If they honor this, that would be great, and I will keep the touchpad
Get your money back and buy an iPad 2. Then start doing amazing and magical things.
.
You won't regret it and you'll never look back (except to laugh at the stumbling, struggling 'droidheads and their crappy, almost-works-like-an-iPad tablets).
I have a mail from HP store UK this evening refusing a refund on the Touchpad. I bought direct from Hp as I am an employee and they were offering a good price (it appeared good at the time of launch anyway!). If best buy are offering refunds surely hp have to come up with the goods too...?
