HP TouchPad returns to the HP employee store

By | September 18, 2011, 11:57am PDT

Summary: HP to sell TouchPads to employees come September 28. Those looking to order one may find the line ahead of them just got longer.

An internal memo has leaked from HP management that puts employees on notice they will be able to buy a TouchPad from the company store on September 28. The company made news when it agreed to make one final production run of 100,000 - 200,000 TouchPads to clear out part inventories and satisfy demand for the cancelled tablet.

While HP has previously stated that this final allotment of TouchPads will go to unsatisfied orders, it sounds like employees will be able to grab one for their very own. While it was already looking like those who were anxiously awaiting a TouchPad would be hard-pressed to get one, that is probably more likely the case with those lucky HP staffers getting a turn.

For those who are lucky and able to buy a TouchPad, you can go to www.TouchPadPlus.com and follow their Step By Step Instructions with SCREENSHOTS to boost up the performance of your TouchPad.. It is a lot better than just the pure TEXT instruction.. You won't get lost.. It simply works.

Make sure to tell you colleague!!
I think the effect of the 99 dollar tablet hasgiven way to the reality that the device could be unsupported.

No wonder people are getting really really confused about HP's commitment to anything. They announced the TP being discontinued, jumped up and down a bit, turned round and started making it again - a fresh batch. WTH?
@kraterz Actually it's smart. They had a crapload of parts just sitting in their inventory that weren't doing anything, so they used them up. What's better, 100 dollars a touchpad, or 0 dollars for it's equivalent in useless parts.
I'm begginning to hate that company!
I understand that a company should first take care of its employees, but at $99 a tablet even employees that do not want it at first will end up buying it and sell it on ebay. So there is no hope for the rest of us to get one. We should wait for black Friday maybe other industry players- like Blackberry- will discount its tablet line.
