T-Mobile launches VoIP app Bobsled for Facebook

Summary: T-Mobile isn’t just waiting for absorption by AT&T, it wants to get all up in your Facebook with the launch of Bobsled. Bobsled is an application for Facebook that permits VoIP voice calls over Facebook chat.

T-Mobile isn’t just waiting for absorption by AT&T, it wants to get all up in your Facebook with the launch of Bobsled for the social network. Bobsled is an application for Facebook that permits VoIP voice calls over Facebook chat to any of the user’s friends on the network. Bobsled can only make calls from a computer, as no mobile version was announced for such calls although T-Mobile says Android and iOS apps are in the works.

Calls made using Bobsled from the desktop Facebook site can be received by anyone on the service, as recipients are not required to have installed Bobsled. Voice messages can be left for friends who are not available to take the voice call, right on the friend’s Facebook wall. Calls are initiated by clicking on the friend’s icon in Facebook chat.

AT&T recently announced the intention to acquire T-Mobile, and it is expected to take a year for the deal to get through the approval process. T-Mobile has stated it will conduct business as usual during this process, and the Bobsled release is proof positive of that. What remains to be seen is if AT&T will keep T-Mobile ventures such as Bobsled that do not fit its core business of mobile communications after the merger.

Bobsled can be downloaded and installed in Facebook from the Bobsled download site.

Good day to confirm this comment I would appreciate T h e b e s t o f Z D N e t d e l i v e r e d your website very nice to everyone Yes, Oracle is the only one with shared-disk architecture, but that is there advantage. It means you can add or remove nodes and the database lives on. In a shared nothing architecture, if you lose a node, you lose the system. I'm sure Oracle appreciates EMC highlighting their advantage.I also desire to signal in your RSS feeds. Thank you as soon as once again and maintain up the great operate Awesome post!
