Times of New York candle for those who read the paper online

Summary: An enterprising company has released the Times of New York candle for recreating the smell of that famous newspaper for those who miss the smell while browsing online.

I rarely touch a real newspaper, and based on how well most of them are doing I am not alone. Reading books and news electronically has long been my favorite pastime, but there is one thing I miss about reading newspapers: the smell. That distinctive smell of black ink on newsprint that is only present with a newspaper in hand. Until today, as an enterprising company has released the Times of New York candle for recreating the smell of that famous newspaper.

The Times of New York candle is the work of artist Tobias Wong, who died last year without seeing his candle come to reality. In honor of Wong, bondtoo and Project No. 8 of New York have joined together to bring a limited number (1,000) of Wong’s candles to market. All you have to do is pick up one of the Times of New York candles, visit the New York Times on your electronic device and light the candle. It will be like old times, only better with clickable links. The candles will be gone when the production run has sold out, and will set you back $65.
