When Zynga released Words with Friends for iOS and Android, it was almost certain my free time would start disappearing. There’s something about playing word games with people you know, and those you don’t, that brings out the competitive drive. Throw in the ability to have many games going at the same time, and kiss your free time goodbye.
Those familiar with Scrabble will recognize the Words with Friends game immediately. The object is to spell words for points on a board using existing letters in words already played. Check that, the real object is to crush your friends by playing words using letters with high point values.
The game is easy to play and tons of fun. The in-game chat feature lets you taunt your opponents just before you play that high-scoring word. The game plays well on smartphones, and is magnificent on the 7-inch screen of the Galaxy Tab. The only downside to playing Words with Friends on the Android platform are the obnoxious ads that take over the screen after every single turn. Give it a try and you’ll be hooked too.
