As open source management software makes gains, ISV GroundWork Open Source is getting more attention from Red Hat.

On Tuesday, the two partners will announce an expanded partnership in which leading Linux vendor Red Hat will now provide 24x7 telephone premium support of GroundWork products and will offer either onsite or online training classes through GroundWork University.

Effective November 15, RHX customers will be offered three levels of support, add-on modules and the option to buy GroundWork training, GroundWork said.

In May, Linux leader Red Hat named GroundWork as one of its first application vendors to participate in Red Hat Exchange (RHX), an online marketplace of applications that have been validated to run on Red Hat Linux and distributed through RHX. By the end of August, GroundWork had surpassed ins 500th subsciption, and attributed the majority of sales to partners Unisys and Red Hat.

Red Hat and GroundWork will hold a webinar on the benefits on Thursday.
