  • who MS Office then

We are switching to Open Office with this new
version. No more dollars for MS Office when OO is
    free.

I still use Office 2007 and I think there is no other office product that is better than Office 2007. However, I love openOffice 3 as alternative from MS Office. If I couldn't use MS Office any more, I have no problem to switch to openOffice. I just thinking that MS Office is still better.

    • I have to agree...

Office 2007 is excellent (once you get used to the ribbon, which doesn't take too much time.) I actually use both suites, depending on what I'm doing. I just installed OpenOffice 3.0 this morning (looks like it was a good idea not to wait, I just got an e-mail saying their servers are overloaded.)

I was a big MS Office 2003 fan.
and I used also a lot of macros
    Eventually I succeded to switch
a small company with 200 users to
OpenOffice. I must admit that was
a gret effort but now everything is OK!

  • We will see a lot of migrations, as Office Suites become less important and

OpenOffice gets better. Actually, OpenOffice has been "good enough" for quite some time now.

    • "Good enough"? Bwa-ha-ha-ha

Better not hire DoonieBoy to decide what productivity tools your company needs. It will be a surefire crash in office productivity...

  • The office suite was wizbang back in the day....

But now? Lets be honest here its Ho Hum. As a product and
concept it should have gone "generic" in pricing a long tine
    ago.

This is a non-issue, Microsoft Office will continue to dominate the market for years to come, especially against this paltry offering from the open source community.
