Exchange Server 2007 RTM released

By | February 9, 2007, 12:18pm PST

I just received a bulletin from Microsoft that Exchange Server 2007 RTM has been made available for download to subscribers of the TechNet and MSDN services. CD and DVD shipments will be made in March according to the bulletin. This is a critical milestone for the 2007 family of releases as many organizations have been waiting for the final shipping version of Exchange Server 2007 to begin planning their migration.

If you do not have a subscription to TechNet or MSDN and want to evaluate Exchange Server 2007 for use in your organization, Microsoft has a VHD (Virtual Hard Drive – a pre-configured virtual machine) that combines Exchange Server 2007 and Live Communications Server 2005 available for download (requires Virtual Server 2005 R2 on a Windows Server 2003 machine). The VHD provides a 30-day evaluation.
