Vonage has issued a press release announcing that it has been enjoined from using certain VoIP technologies in the Verizon patent dispute in a U.S. district court in Alexandria, VA. Vonage maintains that it is not infringing on any of Verizon's patents with the statement:
"We remain confident that Vonage has not infringed on any of Verizon's patents - a position we will continue vigorously contending in federal appeals court - and that Vonage will ultimately prevail in this case. Despite this obvious attempt by Verizon to cripple Vonage, the litigation will not stop Vonage from continuing to provide quality VoIP service to our millions of customers."
The order isn't immediately effective, and the court will hear stay arguments in two weeks. If Vonage doesn't get the stay, it will appeal to federal court. More details here.
