While researching a detailed post on Heathrow's T5 baggage systems failure, I came upon this tidbit regarding supermodel Naomi Campbell. Turns out she was traveling through the airport, learned her bags were lost, and went nuts.
This is the first (and probably last) time you'll read about supermodels in this blog, so enjoy it.
From USA Today:
Witnesses said Campbell was aboard a British Airways plane due to depart for Los Angeles when she became involved in a dispute over her luggage."
Apparently, Campbell became upset after being informed that one of her two checked bags had gone missing, according to Campbell spokeswoman Annabel Fox.
Mercury news adds:
The 37-year-old and her entourage had been at the First Class Lounge of Heathrow's new Terminal 5 about to board their 4pm flight to Los Angles when she was told one of her bags had been lost in the chaos that has been plaguing the new terminal since last week. The notoriously bad tempered prima donna demanded British Airways staff immediately find the lost article but when they said they would have to find and forward it to her later, she flew into a rage.
London tabloid, the Sun, said this:
Terminal 5 has been in chaos ever since it opened on Thursday last week — with hundreds of flights cancelled and thousands of bags going missing.
But Naomi appears to be the ONLY one of 280,000 passengers so far who required cops to be summoned.
Not content to lose any opportunity for dirt, the Sun posted the following announcement:
Every now and then we see an example of systems failure dramatically impacting non-techies. This is one of those times.
Note to Naomi Campbell: relaxation techniques really can work wonders.
