This past week I attended NetSuite’s SuiteWorld 2011 conference in San Francisco.
Among the various activities in which I participated was a panel discussion for NetSuite customers. Although nominally about the future of cloud computing, the session consisted mostly of questions from the audience. Such discussions are particularly interesting because they provide insight into the issues that cloud customers find compelling.

The audience was most interested in the following topics:
- Benefits of moving to the cloud
- Business impacts of the cloud, for example, changes to IT and new opportunities to create value
- Determining ROI
- Security
- Open source
NetSuite’s Vice President of Product Marketing, Mini Peiris, moderated the panel. The other participants were analyst / blogger Ben Kepes and consultant Dan Feely.
