Microsoft has reported sightings of exploitation of the recent vulnerability in IE7 on various porn sites. This isn't really bad news, since no one looks at such improper things on the Internet, right? According to an article posted late saturday night on Microsoft's Threat Research Blog, approximately .2% of all worldwide users have been exposed to exploits against the data processing vulnerability, and the exploit is now appearing on pornography sites. If Microsoft's numbers are correct, that means millions of systems may have been freshly compromised over the past few weeks. I would be surprised if we don't see an uptick in the knock-on effects of more compromised systems, including higher levels of spam and credit card fraud.

Since there is no patch for the IE problem as of right now, your best bet is to use an alternative browser such as Firefox, Opera, or even the Windows version of Safari. Remember, when you are browsing strange websites, it is important to use protection. You don't know what kind of diseases they may have.

    • What?

I would normally ignore your post, as it not all that important. However, I am very sorry; but your grammar and spelling are so poor that I wonder why you would even post such a display.

I see this more often than not anymore. Is it that you do not care what others may think of your posts? To be completely forthright with you- I have no idea what you were trying to convey.

I am honestly not "picking" on you. If that was your best attempt at communicating your ideas... so be it.

If not, why would you make such a profound fool of yourself with that particular post? Spell-check is available to you within the posting mechanism of this website. You would certainly have noticed this?

Granted, grammar errors are not included. I do not mean to offend. I am sorry if you are offended. I just think you should pay more attention/educate yourself a little more in this area.

Relax man... You obviously just haven't realised that people from other countries post in this place too...

I know you probably find it hard to believe but if it has not occurred to your massive intellect which is so huge and cumbersome that it misses really obvious common sense conclusions...

Like English is not his first language...

Then maybe you ain't so clever either. (Drrrrr..!)

Yes, Your attempt to belittle him made you look sooo stupid.

      • Common misperceptions and mistakes

Sometimes it is hard to tell why people post in broken or incomprehensible English. We miss the little cues that tell us the person is trying hard to communicate, but that English is not their native language. I appreciate all those who attempt to communicate in English, because unfortunately Americans have not often made the attempt to be bi- or tri-lingual like so much of the rest of the world.

And we do have a lot of people who are *supposed* to know English and who cannot be bothered to exert themselves. Or they think it is "cool" to spout gibberish as if it were some new fad. I actually enjoy reading some of those posts, because it reassures me that I will never have to worry about competition for a good job from those people.

        • Yes, except that ...

Yes, sometimes it is hard to tell why people post in broken or incomprehensible English ... but when their post name is "Quebec-french", it's not so hard ... oui?

  • Would never happen

The main reason Joe/Jane Blow is paying for high speed internet is to watch porn. Don't expect him(her) to stop chocking the chicken / spanking the monkey.

If anything, this will drive people to try other browsers.

With "her" I believe it's "making soup" and "yodeling in the gully". :D

    tikigawd
    • Not enough said...

Tiki your an excellent writer, why not post a detail on the things you like about chrome.(In another article, as this one is obviously dead)

I'd try it if I had time, but it is easier/quicker to read a good post on the subject.

Thanks for your input! I value your opinion and other ZDNet readers like you.

  • RE: IE 7 users: stop looking at porn now!

If you need to look at that stuff you need to make sure your browser is very secure since most malware comes from these sites. Firefox, Opera or other browsers and operating systems that is fairly secure should be using for this since even if you did had an secure browser the malware writers can write code to bypass the browser and target the OS.
Remember the IE is still tightly couple with the OS hence the insecurity.
If you continue to watch this stuff you may become Paul Rubens...
